It really is a shame Aris is such an egomaniac. FM’s ratings would put them at least in the middle of the field for the girls. Instead Bethlehem, a team that simply does not deserve to be there, is going to get DFL. Although it would be at least interesting if NY gets 1st and last (a pretty likely outcome).
The boys is much less interesting, NP is going to win and everyone else is just fighting to be the best loser. Next year should be a much more fun race to watch.
The predictions for Crater and Jesuit highlight just what a raw deal Rocky Mountain got.
How ignorant does Aris need to be to realize that FM is not the only team that gets injuries? If they had injuries he should have still put someone from JV in and let this team race.
I also don’t understand why CNS didn’t run even without Boyle????? Are they replicating the Aris strategy now???
So much chaos in NY this year.
In 2019 North Allegheny didn’t race at NXR, they could have made NXN if they did
And no Jesuit LA in this race. These projections show that Grapevine is so much worse that Jesuit would have creamed them by tempo pace. If they lose to Carroll by tempoing, it’s 100% ok. You can get second and still qualify
Maybe tempoing at NXR is not a good idea, you never know what team will break out.
State is a better meet for them to tempo at.
Rocky’s number 3 was a new transfer from TX. Maybe they hate teams with transfers after seeing how many Loudoun Valley was getting?
Having seen Abbey Nechanicky run at all but one of her wins this season, I'm especially interested in seeing how she does on Saturday. As Bill Meylan points out, she's been very consistent speed-rating wise this season, ranging from 151 to 158 (with her higher numbers most recent). In all the times I've seen her cross the finish line this year, she has never once appeared spent. She always looked like she had "more in the tank." (I joked to someone at one race that she looked like, "Well, that was a nice warm-up. What time does the race start?") Point being that I'm not sure we've truly seen her top gear all season (she hasn't really been pushed yet to have to use it). Of course versus Irene Riggs, all bets are off. Abbey would need to have the race of her life to beat Riggs...
The local press is making it out to be that he was concerned and compassionate for his injured runners. Also noted that runners and parents supported decision. At least on boys side, he didn't have 5 healthy bodies to even field a team, ie no jv guys.
He did enter 3 individuals and 2 qualified for nxn.
FM's team numbers are way down, perhaps now post COVID, he can get more kids to join. Surprisingly, over the years, both FM and Saratoga, have only had 10-15 kids on whole team.
We will find out what happened to Leo in the Call Room's next episode tomorrow. If he was just sick and he expects to be back 100% healthy next week, then Leo #1. #2 and 3 a tossup between Lex and Hunter Jones. Gorze and Burns 4 and 5. Aaron Sahlman, Benne Anderson, Conner Ackley, Devan Kipyego, Jackson Heidesch, Simeon Birnbaum and maybe Daniel Simmons will be battling for the next few spots. Expect Sahlman to catch 5 people in the last hundred.
Teams: Newbury, Jesuit, Crater
Odd that he didn’t use the California sectional results for the “state meet” merge. That’s how he’s always done it in the past. Great Oak and Granada both benefit a lot from ignoring their sectional results (which I think is pretty misleading).
Granada projected 15th…that’s pretty low for a second at-large berth.
Speaks more volumes as to why Rocky Mountain should have been selected
Crater can beat Jesuit if Jesuit’s 5th man cannot close the 4-5 gap on their 4th
Apparently there are 2 guys who’s last name is Cantu in the entries list
one from Newbury Park and one from Southlake Carroll
New York will be the "bread" at NXN this year. Regular sandwich for the girls, open-faced sandwich with two slices at the bottom for the boys.
His boys team wasn't qualifying, healthy or not. They ran their best race of the season at Sectionals and lost handily to Auburn, who were 7th at States the following week. Despite the weakest team strength in NY in decades, FM's boys were not a top-10 team this season. That being said, Aris coached his tail off to get them to where they ended up.

I give you credit, you have the LONGEST most patient troll game of the season with the Cantu posts. Bravo! :D
I know the Midwest okay. Hinsdale Central is interesting. They have 4 runners on the team who in the summer set the IL 4x800 record at 7.32, which is 7th fastest in US high-school history. Dan Watcke is signed to Oregon, and is a 1.50 800 runner, while Adun Bandekwala is the state champion (Watcke was 3rd). Cam Viger at Plainfield South should be top 10 easy. Downers North is a solid team that has been building for years. And on the girls, Prospect really could give Saratoga a challenge. 5 out of 6 teams from the Midwest are from the Chicago suburbs.

Hinsdale Central‘s backend of the scoring 5 improved tremendously from the beginning of the season
