OK but she is on the verge of winning one so she will probably win more than one. Her talent is extraordinarily. Anyway I shouldn’t participate in these threads because nobody really knows.

This is the worst take ever. Tuohy is probably a once in a lifetime talent, the best of her generation right now at least. Parker was right there with her last year only running two days a week. You're crazy if you don't think she will get a title at some point.

So you think that Valby CAN'T get faster, but you are convinced that other runners currently slower than Valby WILL get faster?
That's not a real analysis, that's just an opinion based on nothing logical.

I see it going 1 of 2 ways: 1) Valby and Tuohy both run the 3k/5k indoors, and 5k outdoors, with Valby winning one of their matchups. My shot in the dark prediction is Valby wins the 5k by a little bit over Tuohy, then Tuohy comes back and destroys the 3k field, then there's a big buildup to outdoors to see who wins the 5k, with Tuohy ultimately coming out on top.
2) Both run the 3k/5k indoors, but Tuohy runs the 15/5 and Valby runs the 5/10 outdoors. In this scenario, I see Tuohy winning 15/3/5/5 and Valby winning the 10. Every Valby and Tuohy race would come down to the last 50m though.
Bonus predictions that no one asked for: Both go sub-15 against each other in at least one race. Tuohy goes sub-4. Valby drops a 4:05. Both make a 2023 US team. Both make the 2024 Olympic team. Valby gets enough points for Florida to win a title. OP stays single for the rest of their life.

15/5 at outdoors is really tough. 15 is hours before the 5. She could do it, but in that scenario Tuohy would win the 15, but Valby would likely win the 5. If Tuohy wants that 15 title though that could be OK.
Valby looks great for the 10, if she runs it this year she has a strong chance to win it.

Ill bite. On paper i see you working. But, as some have pointed out the first thing that comes to mind is the 10. Also ,according to worlds most inexact science, their is some validity to PV just starting up her curve and KT maybe getting near the top. PV hasnt even heard of a tangent yet. Maybe her ceiling is higher/farther away? I guess we will find out. I just hope they all (Cook PV, KT etc..) stay in school long enough to have some epic showdowns. These are good times.

I believe this as much as I believed similar threads about a certain Tuohy. She certainly looks like she will be in the mix for a while.

How many national titles do you have?
We can study data from hundreds of elite American female distance runners to see their rate of improvement. Yes Stearns is improving but is behind Valby.

No... LOL. Stearns is improving faster. Last year she ran 21:10 at nationals, placed 196th, 90 seconds behind Valby. This year 4th, only 13 seconds behind Valby.

When you read some of this stuff it is like alchemy.
Stearns is a Junior (sophomore eligibility), but graduated HS in 2019. I wonder how old she is? My guess 21. I think she is a year older than Valby and Tuohy.
