Shouldn’t the national championship be at a neutral site. Being able to train daily on a specific XC course is too much of an advantage.

And they still didn’t win
Same for track, honestly.
Cry me a river, it’s a great cross country course and adjustable for anyone to run on
I think you're right. The only fair thing to do is compete on a different planet.
The last time a men's team won on their home course - Michigan State in 1959. The last women's team - never.
Then build a cross country course and bid for the NCAA championships.
I say they won. If they used the 6th man tiebreaker they would have won. At the very least, they tied. They certainly don't deserve to be thought of as some major loser today. They were ranked 4th, they were tied for fourth, and their top 5 performed really well
In Soccer, a tie that is lost on penalties is still considered a tie
Well...they didn't win they got 2nd. 6th man hasn't been the tiebreaker in years.
I would live it if you weren't anonymous so I could just go over and physically smack you.
You created a whole user account just to insult me for having a reasonable opinion?
This is a stupid take. The OKST course is incredible and they deserve to host often. Any coach that gripes about this, build a better course then.
After watching the race today, I was wishing that course had existed when I ran. Would have loved to tackle that one in my prime. Such an interesting mix of super hard and consistent ground making the course lightening fast mixed with several really tough hills to slow it back down.
It seems a great course. My point is that Oklahoma State shouldn’t be allowed to train on it. They know ever inch and that’s just way too much of an advantage. Do you think they get second and nearly a win without this advantage? I don’t
It is a great venue and course. Next year in VA, it is a nice course, pretty challenging but there will not be the space near the start and finish that OSU has. A lot of twists and turns too so positioning will be even more important.
What a stupid comment. Championship level cross country courses don't exist in a vacuum, a course worthy of a NCAA D1 race is one that is used by a NCAA D1 school.
Didn’t we just have consecutive Super Bowl champions play in their home stadium?
Yeah. And regionals shouldn’t be at vcp because it gives Columbia an unfair advantage. Puhlease!
How is that an advantage?
Just have it at Indiana State every year. You'll never have this issue. 😵💫
wonder if the next year nationals is in stillwater, more teams will do prenats instead of nuttycombe
