Holy mackeral.

Whatever. This is the first time since 2021 that Valby hit the wall.

But Tuohy didn't. Curious. I just wanted a clean race

she's slowed in other races but didn't have anyone to chase her down.
When she was handed the team trophy, she handed it to her teammates to hold in the center of the photo and then moved over to the side. It was subtle, and I doubt she even thought about it, but it struck me as a classy move. She could have held the trophy and had everyone surround her. Her instinct was to hand it to others.
That’s why she is the true definition of a alpha wolf!!!!!!

I think yesterday you commented that Valby would come through 5k at 15:26. Valby ran a great race and I would take nothing away from her but do you now understand why 15:20ish at 5k is not even feasible on that course, in that weather, and against Katelyn Tuohy? In any other year, Valby probably wins.
Valby made the race fun to watch and it’s going to get tiring picking through threads here criticizing her & questioning Tuohy. If Valby had won we would see threads criticizing Tuohy & questioning Valby. Now would probably be a good time for me to take a break from this forum. There’s no compelling reason for me to read the uninformed comments and trollish posts from people that probably can’t crack a 6 minute mile.
Also, to anyone doubting Valby on the hills, you can put those doubts to rest. It will be fun watching the two of them battle each other in track this upcoming season.
As an aside, I think the performances that surprised me the most were McCabe’s 24th place finish. I really expected her to contend for the title a bit more. Ohio State’s Addie Engel had an excellent run to place 10th in 19:50. I also expected Roe & Chelangat to be up there. Also, I think that we can say that Zofia Dudek is starting to find her form.
hills pay the bills, also finishing kick.

If your comment was directed toward me, find where I made an excuse for Valby.
I’m actually more of a fan of Tuohy but would have been fine with either winning. I just wanted to see a good or great race and I did. I was more intrigued by the team race and marveled over the fact that Alabama lacked a 5th.
Gutsy performance from Tuohy & Valby.
With that, I’m out of here until spring track season.
kt is the ultimate teammate. always has been. it's the reason she is at nc state. props to Valby for making this the most highly anticipated women's cross race ever. maybe she will get her turn, but kt is still in the batters box at this moment
They just put up the sign a couple days ago and now they need to change it. Should have waited until after the weekend.
