The winning female at the Paso Robles half marathon today (with prize including $1500 of wine) was a 42 year old with very mediocre prior results, yet somehow managed to pull off a 1:16 half marathon. The last result I can find for her was a 4:57 marathon in 2017.
I ran the race and there would have been several opportunities for her to leave the course and enter again at a favorable spot near the end. The only timing mat was at the start and finish. There were a couple of photographers on route but she herself is a sports photographer, so might be savvy about that.
If the result is legitimate, I feel bad about posting this, but I find the lack of online results that would support this performance rather suspicious.
