The movie is not that bad. It is obviously targeted at teenage girls, with heavy on cuteness.

It looks like she was paid by Mastercard to run the marathon but unlike shalane she didn’t have an assigned partner at the start of the race & eventually found someone willing to run w/ her at the 8 mile mark. I really don’t get why she was there. The marathon wasn’t even her event when she ran pro. Anyone know how much coin Mastercard puts out for this kind of work?

Alexi was an All American at Dartmouth and at U of Oregon and holds a National 10K record. MasterCard is based out of N.Y. and is the second-largest payment-processing corporation in the world. Seems like a match made in heaven. As far as her appearance fee, it's rumored that she received 10K (how appropriate, right?!) and unlimited use of their credit card at any thrift shop in NYC for the weekend.
