A lot depends on how you land. If you land midfoot, with the whole shoe sole at once, you will make more noise than if you land with the rearfoot or forefoot.

For real. At any marathon you can hear those clown shoes from a half mile away slapping down the pavement.

Tempo next percent are the loudest shoes ever made and they will also destroy your shins.

As a high school coach, I know I have athletes that try and "fix their mechanics" by watching YouTube videos where armchair 5k experts preach slapping pavement. I can only imagine how many weekend warriors are doing the same thing (this is to say I'm glad they're attempting to educate themselves on the sport)

Easy fix is to go back to the basics and teach proper sprint mechanics and running drills that prime the neurological system to act as efficiently as the individual's physiology will allow.
