I’ve seen that complained about (a “lack of diversity”) and saw the AP’s article about the World Series as well. About 8% of MLB players are black Americans, but significantly more are (at least part) Afro Latino.
What’s the ideal representation though? Is it 12% to align with the share of the population, or 60% to align with the NFL?

That’s not even fully true. Look at the Braves’ roster (first alphabetical team). 3/26 are black non-Hispanic, but there are another 6 who are Afro-Latino. But they don’t count as “black”.
