Billa is on the OK state team... she already has a feel for the course, she practices on it every day... if she was the #1 runner, Smith would have held her out instead of the others. I don't see her ahead of Cook/ Roe.

A 29 second improvement after racing it just once AND running a time faster than her two faster colleagues did in just the previous race, caught my attention and I think she has a good chance at winning this upcoming weekend.

Yeah we really don't know anything about her. She could surprise.

I think I’m more looking forward to the Big 12 and SEC races than I am the ACC’s.

Likewise. Those are the two I plan to watch if I can figure out the streaming situation. We will see Cook / Roe / Valby run for second time, and McCabe in a competitive race.

What is the Big12 course like?

I believe it is fairly flat and a fast track. Isn't that where Thorvaldson won the big hs race in the fall of 2020 in 16:24 (5K)?

Frosh Jepkirui crushing three very big dogs in a championship meet on an unfamiliar flat course is a bold pick. She's intriguing, but a rising Serena to the Cook/Roe Venus? I don't see it based on a single race result, but I'm bracing myself for shocks on a number of fronts.

I'm also planning to watch Big12s and SECs while following the splits at ACCs, if I can organize it.

Very interesting topic! In fact, my university does not pay due attention to gender equality and simply does not arrange special competitions for women in any sport. It is very nice to see that not all colleges are like that.

She says in the Jamboree Billah was supposed to just stick with her and see how she felt. After the finish Billah supposedly said "I thought there was another loop". Hence the much faster time in October. So that was no fluke.

It’s going to be a fun Friday and weekend trying to stay on top of all the races and results!

I will try to watch SEC W, follow B12 W times, then watch ACC W, follow Pac 12 times and then watch end of Pac 12 W all live. But DVR is set.

There is nothing listed about her age or running background on the OK state site. Hopefully they will give her an updated bio soon.

Beyond that I have no idea.

It's a flatter course, so if Cook is speedier then she might beat Roe again. I don't think Roe was really racing at Jamboree.
