There is just no way a healthy Parker Valby will get beaten by Tuohy this year and in the upcoming years. Valby is just on another level and looks to dominate NCAA in the next few years if she stays healthy. A new star is born!

Valby's 18:58 6k is very impressive but I would not want to bet against a healthy Katelyn Tuohy either.
Tuohy ran 15:50 3:10/km avg on her first race which is a 19:00 6k and she looked so relaxed finishing that race, smiling and cruising to the finish line.
They are pretty even to me, it will go down to who has more left at the last kilometer.

That race ended up being overhyped. It is a time a 15:20 runner can run on that course and she had the same gap over second place as she did at the Eastern regional. If Parker does not gap Tuohy and Tuohy stays in contact, a repeat of the 5000m is likely. Because Tuohy is better than last year.
I believe there are no other runners that is in the level of Parker Valby and Katelyn Tuohy this season. It will be very exciting!
Not getting on the Parker Valby bandwagon until Tuohy gives me a reason not to root for her aka if she loses this season, 15:50 5k is in the same ballpark as 18:58 6k.

It will definitely be a great race!! Does anyone know how tough that TX A&M course is? Is it a flat race-track on grass like Burke GC at Notre Dame or tougher like the rolling hills of the OK State course? I know there are lots of variables that come into play (weather, competition, early or late season) that would affect the results. Does anyone know if there are course ratings or analysis that has been done to compare results?

It sounds like it is pretty flat and a fast surface due to dry weather.

It is flat with wide long final stretch, one of the best courses to run at, even if its flat, no one ran 18:58 other than Parker Valby.

Valby time-trialed 18:58 on a short course with minimal undulation. She hasn't completed a competitive XC race since Nov 2021, when she died horribly in the final k. Get back to us after SEC Champs.

Honestly the only thing I care about is that everything is above board. You had an athlete who came out of no where late last season to become the second best runner in the NCAA suddenly come back from an injury layoff and immediately pop off a seemingly crazy time while coached by a BTC/Schumacher alumni. When the dust settled it was not even the UF record and race ratings were a bit misleading. But initially seemed rather curious.
