In my state with no pre-nup, my future spouse would only be entitled to the appreciation of a home in my name from when we get married, not 50%. some states it is 50% though so it may be worth checking with an estate attorney.

I had a similar experience. I dated a woman in her late 30s when I was early 30s (I am older now). She was a preschool teacher and her pickup truck needed repairs and so she had nothing to drive. I ended things quickly because she was bible school educated and things just weren’t working with that

Americans, like people in all first world countries, have 12 years of state funded education which most people waste. Their salaries are also absurd vs basically every other country in the world (Scandinavians have you beat on the low paying service jobs, maybe). And yet, as with many observable phenomenon across the West, the trend is going in the opposite direction to what you'd expect.

The issue here, most clearly demonstrated by the obesity crisis, is a lack of impulse control. A powder keg of years of individualism meeting declining societal expectations.

I get the feeling that the highly organised, efficient women that tend to make good decisions in life and work as doctors, lawyers, academics, managers, etc aren't going to be dating you anyway. Generally, they aren't into online dating, especially not with men who date multiple chicks.

For whatever readon, you are dating poorer, somewhat vulnerable women. That might be your choice, it might be only those women who agree to date you. But don't pretend that all women are like this. There are plenty of women who are not. You just aren't dating them.

No, it’s the result of not being disciplined enough to have a budget. To see someone with a new phone, car, etc and think I want something new like that myself. It’s entitlement and instant gratification, you could double someone’s salary and they would still spend every penny. If you’re broke when you’re poor, you’ll be broke even with a good salary

The segmentation of society from everyone, to all women, to women in their 30s and 40s, to single/ available women in their 30s and 40s to single, available women in their 30s and 40s in your area, to single available women in their 30s and 40s in your area who you connect with, to single available women in their 30s and 40s in your area who you connect with and who agree to go on a date with you... is a vanishingly small proportion of the population.

What I'm hearing is that about half of the people who are prepared to go on a date with you find money management difficult. That probably says more about you than them.

Personally, I would think the qualities of a good dating partner would revolve around kindness, likeability, integrity, looks, etc. Income and financial IQ rank much lower. Just don’t give her direct access to a credit card or money and have a great time.
