I actually had to look streury up to make sure he wasn’t a third year freshman due to covid/redshirt. I was really surprised to see he graduated last year, anyone else taken aback by this result?
I looked up his HS results and I see he got 8th at Eastbay and 17th at Runninglane last year, with an 8:08 indoor 3k to boot. So definitely far from being a nobody. According to athletic.net he didn’t run outdoor at all. Does anybody know about this dude, it’s pretty nuts to me that an 8:08 3k runner was just an also ran in the insane season that was 2022 high school track
Looks like he didn’t run outdoor because he had turned 20. But that was according to an xray done when he was a child, he’s not sure of his actual birthday. Cool story. Ethiopian adopted by an Indiana family. But not from the “fast” part of Ethiopia if that’s appropriate to say.
