Running Brave was better than I had expected, but The Jericho Mile is still the best.
Jericho Mile. It was critically acclaimed.
For just an overall track and field film, you can always watch Personal Best which had a slew of real athletes and co-starred a competitive hurdler. Sadly, many people today won't recognize them. And you have to put up with a whining Mariel Hemingway.

Did he really get bumped out to lane 4 twice on the last couple of laps or is this just Hollywood?

Great film
Clarke bumped him out to lane 3 and then Ghamudi (sp?) kind of grabbed both of them and forced his way through.
Rocky III
jericho mile holds a place in my heart
For me this movie is memorable as it maybe helped me to not take the wrong road at the Y.
I was out of high school and out at some party with the bros. Drinking beers and shots of whiskey and feeling pretty good. Someone said "try this", I knew what is was, acid. I took the hit. Apparently I blacked out at some point. I remember getting a ride back to my place and going to bed, only to wake up about 3 hours later at 4am. The next 14 hours were hell, 5 showers, naps, short walks, water, anything to flush my system. At about 6pm I woke from another nap and nearly felt normal. I resolved then that NEVER again. I got something to eat and headed to the mall and bought a new pair of running shoes. I then went to a nearby theater and watched "Running Brave".
The day ended in the best and most positive way it could of. I'm still alive, still run and swore off any drugs. It may not be the best movie, but one of the most important to me.
The long green line
Across the tracks
masterful acting by Brad Pitt and Ricky Schroeder
Gallipoli followed by Chariots of Fire
RB is a running movie a real runner can enjoy. Cannot stand Hollywood BS. Robby Benson was surprisingly good. Pat Hingle was also very good .
Greatest scene in running
Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, based on the book of same name.
