On TV this evening:
I'm going to watch, but what a load of crap. There is a full police report that you can read that specifically describes Lauren Johnson admitting to finding out on September 8, 2020 that her husband Nicholas Johnson had been sleeping with runners on the Huntington University XC/TF team!!! She even admitted in the same interview in that report not saying anything up to that point (9/28/2020) because she knew her and Nick would lose their jobs at HU if she did report it.
AND THEY STILL DIDN'T FIRE HER.
Even if it had been consensual (coach/athlete removes that from consideration imo), Lauren had a duty to report and failed to do so. She should have been outright fired 2 years ago when all this broke, not suspended halfway through this season. She has no one to blame but herself for that.
Kudos to Fox59 for baiting the audience with Lauren saying something/someone else ruined her life. Get out of here. And if they don't ask about the FACT above in that interview massive, massive shame on the reporter.
“Coming to you live, from the land of delusions…”
I'm really looking forward to this interview. I agree with you, hopefully they bring up the fact that she knew and chose to stay quiet. In the teaser LJ says "THEY destroyed my past, present, and future." Surely she isn't referring to Nick's victims. Only time will tell! Gonna have my popcorn ready at 6.
Hope you have that popcorn ready, the teasers have sounded very much like this could be a pretty apologetic angle being taken...oof.
I'm glad stuff like this only happens in places I fly over.
That was incredible, in the literal sense of the word.
For those of you who don't want to watch. Johnson regrets nothing, Wiley thinks that the women who filed the lawsuit because the Johnson wouldn't have sex with her, and Dirr's response to the doping accusations was that caffeine is also a banned substance (its only banned in competition and IIRC it would take about 6 cups in 2 hours to exceed the legal limit).
These people are all insane.
Remorse and accountability are never part of the equation. It is always just deny.
Are we allowed to talk about Addy Wiley now? She is an adult. I found her response to the two women making allegations repulsive and distasteful. "I read the text messages"--Addy WHY ON EARTH would you have ever seen those text messages? Asking questions is one thing but telling a newspaper that two women who you do not know are making this up because the coach wouldn't sleep with them is outrageous.
I’m speechless.
Somebody needs to get Addy Wiley to the furthest place in the world from Indiana.
I can't imagine what shes been through to say what she said, with a straight face.
At the end of the day, Lauren cannot deny she knew that Nick was sleeping with women on the team. It is literally in the police report when she admitted to knowing. Consensual or not, he was sleeping with athletes and she knew it. Her going on TV and acting like she did nothing wrong pisses me off so much!
Damn bro what a shocker. A coach abusing his subordinates!?!?
And absolutely to belabor the point, don't forget Addy acknowledged an explicit relationship between Nick and an athlete (either Emma or Hannah) and Lauren didn't get asked about that knowledge by the reporter. It was just "Ho hum, sexting, past legal admissions of sexual affairs between a coach and his athlete(s), but poor, poor Lauren. She couldn't have done anything wrong because these girls like her."
I guess if they'd asked the hard questions, there would never have been an interview to begin with. But this both-sidesing style of reporting gives credibility where it isn't due - and that's towards Lauren's capacity to be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of her athletes. She wasn't and why should she be trusted to now?
And an official no comment from Lauren about her marital status in relation to Nick. I'd think if I wanted my name cleared I'd probably try to publicly get as much daylight between me and a person like him as possible.
Dude hit the road. This is some serious sadistic $hit. Your attempt at humor is not welcome here.
relax you baby. I’m sick of of student athletes being subjected to abuse. It’s bad enough the NCAA is essentially a legalized slave labor organization. Oh but their college education!!! Give me a break.
