But next year, NP is looking to be a one-man show. Doshi is the only nonsenior on the team that has any possibility of getting national recognition next year, since he is the only nonsenior that is capable of making NXN individually next year
In case anyone wants a summary on how this competition played out: Mile 1- Shetty / Schohn / Dickran were all together. Mile 2- Shetty moved up 16 spots, Schohn moved up 14, and Dickran moved up 10. Mile 3 - Shetty passed 4 more guys, and Schohn and Dickran dropped 7 spots.
I agree. The girls team will be a whole lot better next year. They already did well at Clovis this year after graduating much of their team and are nationally ranked. They only graduate Hawkins after this season.
Better? They are losing their number one. Unless they replace her with someone equivalent, they are just losing their top runner and adding mediocrity.
In 2014 Joe Klecker was a senior at Hopkins High School in mn. He was their #1. Team took 4th at NXR. He made it as an individual though
In 2015, (in Joe’s first year of college) Hopkins completely crushed it at NXR. They took 7th at NXN
They left out Shetty, and more importantly, Cantu. Why did they even leave them out at sections to begin with???? Aren’t the top 7 already determined??? Do they just automatically use the same roster for cif state that they used for sections? can they make as many swaps in that roster as possible from sections to state? I think you are allowed to make one substitution from the CIF state roster for the NXN roster. Without Cantu, it’s extremely risky at NXN if someone in the top 5 falls or drops out or something

They just take the entries from the section final. Swaps for team members can be made at Woodward Park so no reason to get all in a tizzy.
What I’m curious is why they had the guys outside of their top 7 run at the section meet. Are their 6th and 7th guys hurt? Are they trying to give them more varsity experience for next year?

If you don’t care why did you open this thread? :)
It's a great point. I can't answer other than the train crash phenomena. I can't seem to look away! It's truly baffling that Arnav Shetty has commanded this amount of mind share on Letsrun.
Also gotta remember that the reason why this thread was created is that this debate of who will be their 7th has shown up in so many threads that people who want to look at those threads are annoyed by this. Thankfully it isn’t talked about in other threads. The 7th man debate is what this thread is for. If people don’t want to hear this debate they don’t need to open this thread

Entries list here is out. So looks like Guevara / Schohn are still listed instead of Cantu / Shetty
However, for Trabuco Hills, a change was made in the entry list.
Senior Reed, who ran in the section finals, was switched out with Griggs. This was the right switch, and it will give us a better idea on how Trabuco Hills will look for next year, since 5 nonseniors are in this lineup now
