German’s record is insane. L&L most likely get it by the end of the season, but the caliber of runners that have attacked it and failed the last few years is incredible. And they are doing it together, which definitely helps

NP's 4 and 5....those last 2 miles had to have hurt. Ouch.
Outside of those top 2, kind of a bad day.
Top 2 we’re not impressive either. Basically no progress over last year.
Doshi lost 10 places, Parra 11. Soph Grant Morgenfeld (PA) moved up 15 to finish 9th. Someone to keep an eye on.
One second off the great German Fernandez's course record? Yeah, not impressive at all...
Doshi moved up 23 spots.
I’m actually surprised by how far behind doshi cantu was
I’m actually more impressed with the NPHS girls.
the team I’m the most impressed with is San Clemente. Team to watch next year fesho!!!
they bring 4 guys back + another freshman
Disagree, Leo was like 7 seconds faster which is a lot at their level. This is also their season opener, so they are probably building up slower for World Jr XC in February. Very impressive results, Germans record will almost certainly fall in November. Hell of a record too, one of the strongest in HS history.
Clearly the NP boys are not as strong as last year's team, but of course last year's team is probably the greatest h.s. xc team ever. Looking ahead to NXN their 1-3 is golden. I'd like to see Seymour & Doshi close up the gap a bit. They were at least 40 seconds behind Sahlman. That gap will be filled in by lots of runners at NXN. They also better hope that none of the top five are subpar at NXN because Cantu and either Shetty or Guevara are just too far back.
Leo came close to German's amazing 14:24, but it shows what an incredible h.s. talent he was.
Doshi was with a group of ~15:25 guys but got tripped up before the finish line. Seymour was a bit under whelming considering for a 4:10 guy, although this is his first time in the course. Sahlman is coming back from injury. Cantu was slower than I expected. The twins were great as always. Would like to see Lex get back up to Leo for both to get German's record at CIF though.

Facts. Germen was solo and it was the last race of the day and really hot by then.
14:40 at Woodbridge to 16:15 here….this looks a little suspect.
Doshi did better last year here than cantu did here
seems like without Seymour AND Martinez, Newbury Park would have been a little vulnerable if Jesuit chose NXN instead of RunningLane
NP return 5 of the top 7 of the best team of all time get a new recruit and they still might not repeat as national champions. I think it becomes more apparent with every race that Sahlman is a 800/miler and not a 5K guy. The new guy and Doshi are a minute back of the Youngs.
Jesuit LA could get 7 guys above 180 speed rating if vocke, Sampedro and Crawford are all healthy.
Side note. All 3 of those guys will be back next year and also got Mullen. They could win nationals next year if Monahan closes the gap on them too
Based on last years results around this time, I think the record will go down for sure at state. 1 second off will drive the twins pretty hard to do it.
Seymour definitely thought he was in better shape than he was based off his start. 4-5 still seem solid enough to win NXN in most cases.
Huge statement race by Sahlman. Looks like he isn't washed

Jesuit might challenge them, but chose not to face them
But having a top two that will score under 6 points is a big advantage, its just that Sahlman may only end up 15-20 at nationals and the 4,5 may be in the 40 to 50s.

Having a top 2 that will score 3* points. At Woodward, sahlman is barely back of where he was last year when he finished 6th after pacing his team the whole way. You're out of your mind. Despite what the jesuit cheerleader in the thread is saying, no one will/would challenge them.

14:52 Woodward by a an 800 type runner is such a horrible time. But then again if trains like an 800 runner 2 to 3 miles a day, then 14:52 is a darn good time, especially if that 800 type is just coming back from injury.
NBP can sure use Martinez.
She doesn’t seem truly transparent at all. She’s now speaking on an eating disorder when before, it was other excuses, her medications, stress, too high expectations , all the while she was running and or racing under a fake name. In her transparency, has she addressed this lengthy trail race she forgot to mention to her fans and following? Has she been transparent about her prescription med issue, truly transparent? NO. An eating disorder doesn’t appear overnight. To be truly transparent, one might have opened up about these struggles years ago, last year. She owes the fans nothing. To claim to be truthful and transparent, then be so. Don’t be transparent when it is the only excuse you’ve got left in the bag
