Question for everyone here who believes Kipchoge is clean: If a 2:01:09 with a sub-60 first half at nearly age 38 isn’t enough to raise your suspicion, then what kind of performance and at what age would it take for you to start questioning him? 1:59? 1:58? Age 39? Age 40? At what point do his performances become too incredible for you?

I keep having to try to be understanding and not judge-y about all these implied drug-use posts. It’s just sad and draining to have to be faced with the end of the competitive side of the sport I love. I guess there’s no end or solution in sight: just another sad fact of life in the mix with more others that shall go un-named here. Sorry. It’s probably a legitimate question, but, oh my! Another poison in the mix!

I get where you’re coming from. It’s sad for me too. The combo of PEDS and super shoes have hurt the sport in my view. I want to give the benefit of the doubt, especially to someone with an established track record of success like Kipchoge - he’s much easier to support than these people who come out of nowhere and drop absurd times like the winner of the woman’s race. But for Kipchoge to keep smashing records as he approaches 40 (some think he’s already there) is too difficult for me to believe. Yesterday’s performance crossed the line for me. I’m wondering what that line is for others.
I would think that by now people who are inclined toward suspicion are already suspicious and people who are not may never be no matter how fast he goes. If that second group was to become suspicious it would likely be his age rather than his speed generating the suspicion.

How much can someone defy the laws of aging and performance before people who were once believers start to become suspicious. What level of incredible can someone be before their fans become incredulous.

I know sports psychology inside out and back to front.
However, about your interest in sports science, how interested are you in Kipchoge's numbers?
If you're smart enough you might be able to grasp that I'm also testing your own psychology here.
I suppose the questions are: how often is Kipchoge tested a year? (I could find no figures online). How would you view another athlete who races twice a year, devastates the opposition and disappears again? European manager and agent; search Jos Hermans doping. Is this a red flag? Works for Nike. Another red flag perhaps? Lives in a country with documented doping issues. Red again? I'd love to believe he is clean. But I can't.
