Could Jakob Ingebrigtsen win UFC by running and tiring oponents out?

I think a fair venue for this match would be a grass tennis court. Good for wrestling, big enough for running, not so big the runner is for sure uncatchable.

no, because no fighter would be stupid enough to keep running around the octagon chasing jakob til they tired themselves out. they would stop, wait for jakob to stop running, and then use their agility to cut jakob off when he tries to run again and either take him down or punch him.

Yes he did, and he managed to tire out Melvin and eventually took him down and pounded him out.

One problem is that Jakob would be disqualified for "timidity"... fighters are required to make a genuine effort to engage their opponent.

There have definitely been fighters who mostly just ran away the entire fight. Clay Guida vs. Gray Maynard comes to mind. Clay Guida kept running away and refused to engage. He went from fan favorite to despised overnight. Carlos Condit ran away from Nick Diaz in most of their fight. He would snipe at Diaz as he approached and then run away again. Condit won one of the more controversial decisions in UFC history... many felt that Diaz deserved the win for aggressively pushing forward no matter how much damage he took.

Another problem is that most UFC fighters are very fast twitch. Their sprint speed would be good enough to get in and land a takedown when Jakob would be finished within 15 seconds.

no. he would get disqualified for not putting any effort into fighting his opponent. also, his opponent could just take the hint and stop chasing jakob. his opponent could just stand in the middle of the octogon and slowly walk toward jakob. jakob would have to be side stepping the whole thing and ultimately wear himself out more than he would wear out his opponent. most fighters in jakob's weight class can very likely run 10 miles at <22 min/5k. so no, jakob cannot win by outrunning his opponents.

with that said, jakob is a 1500m runner and if he transitions back to 800m, he might have a fighting chance. his kicks are probably dangerous. he should solely rely on his legs while standing and just tire out his opponent on the mat by grappling.
