Yes. But, to win worlds, all three Jamaicans need to screw up one way or another. To not make the team, only she needs to screw up (DQ for early start, doping ban, injury, out of shape, quit the sport, ...). So, the latter is less unlikely.

I'd comfortably bet against your pick. The talent is undeniable, but she hasn't shown a thing that indicates that she has the "head" to be the best. That's not an insult. It's a reasonable observation. A lot of people don't. And it matters.

Her new inflate-to-70-PSI chest will help with her lean at the tape... but winning Worlds isn't happening. Sucker bet.

Has she ever made a team? Has she won a world championship? History says that one of those two things has happened multiple times while the other has never happened.

We are discussing Sha'Carri's chances in 2023. That is the point of this thread. She is BY FAR the most popular sprinter on this site. Jon and I just started talking about her and went on for 15 minutes because she is interesting to talk about.

If you want to have a side argument that we are racists take it somewhere else. I would argue you really should take it to another website but at the very least start a different thread. "Wejo is a racist because they had a 15 minute segment on their podcast discussing Sha'Carri Richardson"

Running with a decorative chain around her leg making team USA is unlikely.

All the talent in the World, but a headcase, She Talent wise should win multiple Medals at the World/Olympic level, seems to not be focused on Track. She SHOULD make the USA team on Talent Alone.

I say a better chance to not make the team.

I don't need to start another thread and it's not off topic, you started the thread because you knew people on this site have strong feelings (mostly negative) about Sha'Carri. Exactly zero people would predict that Sha'Carri would be winning Worlds next year, including people that like her, so you knew very well that the vast majority, if not all of the responses would be negative. All you did was pitch the softball so the haters could do what they do best. It's just like all the threads about Alexi Pappas or Kara Goucher on this site, they are only started as fertile grounds for a bash session and no other legitimate purpose. You have no legitimate belief that Sha'Carri will win Worlds, stop it!

The issue here is that Sha’Carri Richardson has stagnated as an athlete. All indications are that we have seen her best performances already. Could she continue at this level for a few more years? It seems possible. Does this mean she could, theoretically, make the US team? Absolutely, so the odds of her making the US team are roughly 1/10 whereas the odds of her winning the World Championship are probably 1/80 or so. So I hope that helps. It is difficult when you have essentially reached your ceiling at 19 and then continue at that level but this appears to be the reality. She is far from alone.

I think my post was not real clear. Sha’Carri has a better chance of not making the US team then she does of winning the World Championship, but many of the top athletes in the world have a better chance of failing to make their national team than to be a world champ. I might even include Tim Cheruiyot in this group even though he is a world champion.

The girl obviously has problems I do expect somthing bad to happen to her. Her story is going to have a very sad ending.
