I was surprised to read in the Teare thread that some don’t consider Letsrun to be real journalism. Personally, this is the only place I look for running info, especially during major championships. Citius, flotrack, runners world, runner space, etc. seem, for lack of a better term, hacky. Obviously asking on the Letsrun messageboard will lead to skewed response, but I’m curious where everyone looks for their running articles/news.

Especially for major champs/meets, I don't even know of anywhere else that covers everything as in depth as Letsrun. Maybe WorldAthletics? But I don't think WA has close to the same level of analysis that LR has. Letsrun also has articles going back 15 years covering the sport. Citius is really good for hearing about a lot of athletes, but they're certainly biased in favor of those athletes. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's definitely not the same thing that LR does. Coffee Club is good for hearing about On stuff specifically and gives a ton of great insight into the ups and downs of pro running (and I think they broke the news on something within the last month or two), but it's definitely not journalism (probably my favorite running media though). Can't speak about the rest tbh.

Yeah easily. Ive read race previews/recaps from other places before and frankly most of them are terrible. Chris Chavez of Citius opened up his recent podcast with Joshua Cheptegei by saying that he finished 2nd to Jakob in the 5k at Worlds.
The boards have deteriorated in quality over time, but if you sift through the garbage there is still a wealth of information about training & racing on here.

Random runner people post threads on the message board, and that’s where I get my running news.
LR has more well rounded international coverage of the sport. The brojos and Gault are the most passionate and know the history of the sport better. It shows in their articles and podcast. This site has its imperfections obviously. That said it’s basically a mom and pop shop, and I don’t expect a news site of a fringe sport to be any more refined.
Flotrack was insightful when they were filming workouts and interviewing pros regularly but that’s long gone. The other sites and podcasts (except for coffee club) just seem to regurgitate the same information.

No publication is even remotely on the same level. Pre and post race analysis from high school to pros. Even some quality posters that do great analysis (one profile per day leading up to major thons- sorry I'm blanking on the poster).
Citius is okay, they have the better podcast as long as you're okay listening to sketchy audio at times and 5 minutes of ads off the jump
yes. letsrun is basically the only place I get pro running information from. I'm a high school teacher and xc/track coach. I think pro's don't care about building a brand, I liked that noah lyles actually stated his job was to sell shoes and be an influencer. Sucks the distance runners don't get that. Yes, you need to have instagram but you also need to realize doing interviews on letsrun will get you some more followers.
Letsrun message board is my primary news source for everything. Why do I need anything else?
God. Know. Gault is freaking terrible. not a journalist. 90% of his stories are watching meets on tv and writing about them. No real experience outside of this site.
