Season starts tomorrow. No athletes listed on the XC roster. No schedule up. No info on their home meet three weeks away. I guess it's happening because it's on OTHER teams' schedules?
5 year max. Jerry will continue to be absent and Shalane’s true persona will be on full display.
What the hell are you talking about? What “true persona”? Anyone who has any relationship with Shalane or has met her in person can’t speak to her genuine character.
Just because you disagree with her on one or two topics doesn’t mean you need to bash her.

I get what you're saying here, and maybe "true persona" isn't the right way to phrase it but I do think it's fair to judge a public figure in the community on their actions.
Shalane has caped for Shelby, continued coaching her, allowed her to train with teammates even though an athlete (GDS) expressed concerns. That athlete's concerns were dismissed, and when she spoke out after leaving the group, Shalane posted passive aggressive posts on her instagram "calling out" said athlete.
We are allowed to express suspicion that Shalane is actually trying to hide something because her actions are suspicious, and the Oregon move is strange. We are allowed to say that we no longer respect Shalane and Jerry for the role they played in protecting a drug cheat.
I met Shalane at a running camp years ago. I didn't find her to be very friendly.

Shalane friendly? Not according to most of the people who have met her. Also, very suspect, and you know what I mean.

LOL. They seem to be getting their stuff together today, coincidentally. Nice to learn of their season opener the day before it happens.
As part of its six-date cross country schedule, Oregon will host the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Friday, Sept. 23, in Springfield.
Banfield is a good no 1. Most of their guys are more mid-d types but you have 3:37 guy in Yearinen, a 3:38 guy in Cook and a 3:41 guy in Gormley. Add in Harrison, Edwards and Schumacher as newcomers and the Kiwi looks pretty good. Plus two other sub 14 guys in Norman and Caleb Brown.
Not spectacular but I would think should be a top 20 type team and only Banfield and Schumacher likely graduate.
The women’s team looks similarly solid, might lack the low stick. But Kazimerska is a heck of a recruit at 4:07. Zarbo at 32:28 and Bott 4:13 is a good top 3, plus you have Pivec a 10:01 steepler and quite a few low 4:20/16 low girls. Again likely not a top ten team and these are track times that don’t always translate to cross country but something you can build off of and in today’s transfer world I suspect they will get good at XC real fast and should be quite strong on the track immediately.
Wait until seeing what the first Schumacher/Flanagan recruiting class looks like before passing judgement on the health of the program. Kate Peters already committed for next year.

Hopefully his other son Eric (junior this year) progresses into an elite runner the next 2 years, goes to Oregon, and makes a huge impact there. I read somewhere he was #6 at the time trials for the strong hs program Jesuit OR (after being on JV last year)

Didn’t Yearinen lose all his eligibility? He is not on the roster either
