Older guy with a family, world class speed, gotta give that a year at least.
Mark Wahlberg made the Eagles at age 35 with no playing experience so anything is possible.
Beyond the needless dimension of race in this post you fail to realize that Allen was an elite DI player through his entire college career. He isn’t exactly playing for the first time…
Is it really needless? I mean, black people and white people are very different.
That's why most NFL players and sprinters are black, despite blacks being the minority.

No. The team needs to select the 53 players who give them the best chance to win (plus whatever other players are allowed as reserves). This is not college where you have 110 players on the roster and can redshirt a guy.

He was not an elite college football player. His 1st season he caught 41 passes for 684. 2nd season caught 9 and 3rd season caught 4.
I suppose I hope he makes the team because it's something he wants to do...but man the odds that he'll tear up a knee seem so high that I'm sorta hoping he gets cut.
funny how they deleted my first post for stating the truth
I guess data goes against letsrun guidelines
say no to the facts!
The game-changer is they gave him a chance to show that he could be a gunner on special teams last game. He was awesome, stoning a guy inside the 10 and aiding a fumble/recovery on a second punt. If he can harness that speed and has the shiftiness to beat his man consistently, he has real value in the kicking game.
This is a Wildcat thing V2. He'll be effective about 1.5 games.

If he does make the team, more likely he'll make his mark as a returner. I don't see him getting much usage on offense. If he does get on the field, I only see jet sweeps and bubble screens. Even when he was making big plays in college, he wasn't much of a route runner, just caught stuff in open space with that Oregon spread.
Local beat guys are reporting that he is being cut today and the Eagles are hoping he can remain on the practice squad. I assume he will be picked up by another team.
Allen seems like a good guy so I hope he makes the team. Lets get real though, 1 catch in preseason, odds are against him no matter how fast he is.

Once he clears waivers he can be signed by another team to the 53 man or to anyone's practice squad.
Once on the practice squad, if he's taken by another team, he must go on the selecting team's 53 man.
I doubt he makes anyone's 53 man right now.

Stop censoring Christian values Brojos!
he's as fast as Tyreek, who would have been 4th or 5th in the Olympics (as an 18 year old!), but I don't think he has the same level of lateral quickness that Tyreek does.
