If threshold pace is about 60 minute pace how is a third enough volume? Not doubting it works, but genuinely curious. I know you don't want to kill yourself going to the absolute max every day, but this seems like a big gap.
Similarly, how often should intervals be completed where one is unsure they can maintain goal pace for all reps? I'm more familiar with paces prescribed that an individual should be able to hit, but not always able to. Is this correct, or should there really never be a doubt?
I've spent a lot of time with 'no pain, no gain' coaches, and I'm trying to wrap my head around hard sessions not being all out.
