And then jumped a whopping 2.24, which is about 8" off his PR.
Must be the shoes.
Get a new sunglasses sponsor too. The ones he's wearing are fugly.
Don’t care. It’s called letsrun for a reason.
Over the last few seasons Nike has let a few big stars switch over to Puma and at least 2 mid season. This seem odd, but also looks like Nike I'd cutting back some
Which is strange, because I'm 99% sure he usually jumps in ASICS?
Irrespective of product there are two primary reasons why the PUMA presence in track and field has exploded in the last 12 months with signings like Warholm, Barshim and Thompson-Herah.
1) Usain Bolts annual 20 million dollar endorsement deal is now one million dollars "lifetime" which means obviously a huge chunk of sports marketing money was freed up to spend elsewhere
2) the CEO Gulden loves track and field and understands the importance of investing in the sport so the majority of that went right back into athletes and product development (both of which is clearly obvious).
Right now PUMA is actually the heavy hitter in track and field with the $$$ to basically get whoever they want not under contract, and the product to back it up.

I don’t think it was mid season, at Worlds he either had blacked out Nike spikes or another brand. I suspect contract ended after the Olympics. Nike lowered the value of renewal and he went with Puma.
puma always go after the big names, but it doesn't matter, people would rather wear nike.
brand is too strong

Well, since we now know how nike values females (mothers), you should hear how they value the black athlete behind closed doors.
