Beatles, The Church
Roger Waters, esp on Animals. He sang about 90% of that. Great album.
The name of that band is The Band. Blessed with three equally-talented singers, Rick Danko, their bassist, has always been my favorite, but not by much. Levon Helm and Richard Manuel also right up there.
Miss them all.
John Doe of X deserves a mention. Not that there are any flies on Exene. X at their best when the two of them actually duet and harmonize together.
Morphine. Mark Sandman one of the most inventive of bass players. Left us way too soon.
Minutemen/fIREHOSE. Mike Watt. Goes without saying.
