Sounds like a good decision. Wish her luck. But the BTC womens side is pretty bare bones now
good for vanessa. sounds like she landed a great job.
Sounds like a good decision given her injury history and it seemed she was dealing with a lot of frustration for little reward. BTC women’s side is basically down to two right now given that Schweizer and Seccafien are injured. Definitely wish her the best and I’m curious how this will play out for her.
Outlined in her IG post today: Nessa Fraser getting a job. Had some great flashes of brilliance. Good luck to her.
No big changes. Van is from Frisco. She lives there most of the time anyways.
More "pro" runners should do the same and move on with their lives.

Exactly. Lots of so called “pro” runners with too much time on their hands the majority of the day. Instead of worrying about these threads, posting on social media and playing video games maybe it’s time to grow up and get a part time job.
That leaves only four females - Elise Cranny, Courtney Frerichs, Karissa Schweizer, and Andrea Seccafien. Remember the days when BTC used to have a train of ladies doing mile repeats?
Why is everyone leaving the womens team but the men don't seem to be having any attrition issues?
Cranny now the sole healthy BTC woman. Yikes. I really like the group and hope they get some new American talent, and that Schweitzer and seccafien return to health
An "opportunity to pursue work in the venture capital industry". I am genuinely curious what degree or work experience has led her to be useful in that field, or if this is a friend of a friend letting her into the free money club.
Down goes Fraser! Down goes Fraser!

A quick Google search would tell you that she has two relevant degrees — B.S. and M.S. — from Stanford University and spent two summers in college working internships in venture capital.

At the end of the day, everyone has an elitist “in to the club” when it comes to VC. Between Mcgorty, Fisher, Cranny, and Fraser, do you realize how many of their college friends, a leading computer science university, work at big tech corporations?
Sounds like a logical decision on her part. Im sure the choice was made easier with BTC upending everything and shipping off to Beaverton.

"Shipping off to Eugene"
She's not from San Francisco. She went to high school in Scotts Valley just outside Santa Cruz, 70 miles south of the City. I still think the marathon is where she should focus.

I love seeing posts about how (insert name of top high school prospect here) should pick Stanford, because it is the best option for a post-running future. Yet as soon as a Stanford alum gets into an industry where the only thing that really matters to recruiters is the name of the institution on your degree, the LetsRun basement crowd screams “UNQUALIFIED”. Would she have this job without her Stanford degree? I have no idea, but the two Stanford degrees certainly didn’t hurt her job prospects for a VC job in the Bay Area.
Good for her putting her Stanford degrees to good use. I wish her the best in whatever she chooses to do.
