Why not 3k steeple? He could start in the marathon too and propably take top10. Why he start on 1500 and 5? Because he train for this, and there he is the best runner.

He could easily run in the 26's. I would do the 1,500m/10,000m double at Nationals every year in college and ran 3:45/29:05. I would estimate Jakob could be a 3:27/26:20 type guy in the future. Grant Fisher ran 26:33 and face it Jakob is in a different league talent wise and he is much younger then Grant.

Like every other runner besides Hassan, he doesn’t want to. If I was him, I wouldn’t consider it for even a second and I wouldn’t line up for the marathon either.

See Hassan's 2022 season for examples of why no one attempts the triple. He also might have his eyes set on a fast time at Brussels or one of the other DL meetings later in the year. The only benefit he'd get from doing the 10,000m is showing how much better he is than everyone else in Europe, which is already known.
Jakob have run one 10 km race on the road and that was in 2019 at the age of 19 (Hytteplanmila). He won the race in 27:54 which was a Norwegian road 10K record at the time.
Jakob was doing the race as a workout, his overall average pace included his recovery pace. Kilian would be spanked by Jakob in anything not on a trail.
i believe if the olympics or world championships had exact same setup as Euros, he would go for the 10000. Just not worth it for what Euros are. Im sure he still has some 1500 goals left for the year.
and of course he didn't have a qualifying time. but he would have gotten one if he found it worth the risk/reward.
