Guessing it was this one?
I like the blue teams outfits. Great design. Wnba should take note.
Hard to watch when they stand in place and just let them make goals. Similar to today's NBA star shooters.
Let's face it, basketball is boring AF. Only Americans and a few weird Europeans get excited by it.
And they have that silly backboard that helps players to score when they've missed.
Yes! Thank you for saying this. I live in VERY basketball-centric state, and it just baffles me how people get so into it. Dribbling is stupid, and the uniforms (tank tops and clown shoes) are the lamest in sports.
Basketball...cash in on your pituitary disorder.
Basketball is one of the top few most popular sports in the entire world. Where does netball rank on this list?
Rank Sport Estimated Fans Regional Popularity
1. Soccer / Association Football 3.5 Billion Europe, Africa, Asia, America
2. Cricket 2.5 Billion Asia, Australia, UK
3. Basketball 2.2 Billion US, Canada, China, and the Philippines
4. Field Hockey 2 Billion Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia
5. Tennis 1 Billion Europe, Americas, and Asia
6. Volleyball 900 Million Asia, Europe, Americas, and Australia
7. Table Tennis 850 Million Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas
8. Baseball 500 Million US, Japan, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic
9 American Football / Rugby 410 Million USA mainly France, England, New Zealand, South Africa
10 Golf 390 Million Europe, Asia, America, Canada
You forgot the rest of the world like Asia, Australia, Africa and South America. Basketball is a huge global sport, second only to soccer.
I had no idea cricket was so popular. How'd it get so popular in Asia?
Mostly this is India and Pakistan - combined population = 1.65 Billion with every one of them cricket fans.
It's a colonial game that is only played by women and is barely played in Canada. I don't know if the game was originated as less "violent" version of basketball or was it a separate game that evolved.
It’s been around way longer than basketball
Korfball is the newer one
Yea, that’s not true. Both invented in the late 1800s, but basketball did come first. Netball, in fact, is a British misinterpretation of James Naismith’s original rules of basketball.
Years ago, I made a thread asking the English and their former commonwealth slaves to splain me cricket. So now I can watch a cricket match and fully understand what's going on.
But I still NEVER DO. It is the most dull AF sport in existence. Americans go to baseball to sit drunk for 3 hours doing nothing, imagine doing that all day 5 days in a row, that's a test. A test of your patience.
Sorry England and England type places but WTF, even if Australia didn't always win.
The English introduced the game of Cricket to India and Pakistan during the time that they were there. They both took to the game and it flourished.
Saw it last night-Netball. Wonder how old it is ?
basketball but with no dribbling and no defense? sounds like the NBA
