The 2 fastest high schoolers of all time are going to be coached by the most successful US 800m coach of all-time.
Still can't believe Clark coaches a 1-2-3 at the 2000 US Olympic Trials.

These 2 would win the NCAA 800 right now.
Willis is the 400/800 type vs 800/1500 for Whittaker.
So, look for Whittaker to run a couple miles next winter, especially since Stanford has now graduated Heymach and Aragon.
If Juliette can get close to 4:30 and looks like a pre-meet NCAA favorite, expect her to run the mile while Roisin stays in the 800. If mile prospects don't look good for JW, then both in the 800.
However, big expectations will be in the DMR when they team up with junior Ellie Deligianni, a 2:03.+ 800 conference scorer on this past spring's team. Willis may need to run the 400 since Stanford has no national-calibre 400 gal. Then, team with one of their other milers, possibly including two other frosh stars Julia Flynn or Riley Stewart.
Forgotten story after the 1-2-3 is that JJ Clark in 2004 coached 1-3 and 2008 coached 1-3 with 3rd place being one his former UT athletes.
I believe Sofia Gorrian has 2 years of HS left and may surpass both these girls
For the DMR I would think they would be better off with Willis on 800, Deligianni on 1200 and Whittaker on 1600 (if she is close to 4:30) and just put someone on the 400 to run a 55. That could be a 10:45 team. The other milers are more like 4:40 or so I suspect unless they take a big step. Doubling either the 800 and DMR or mile and DMR at NCAA Champs is tough though. People do it but the DMR can suffer as can the mile the next day. In the mile Vissa of Ole Miss will be tough to beat as she ran 4:05 for 1500 I think this summer (unless she does that mile/DMR double).
She has 1 year. It’s always hard to tell because girls hit full potential earlier. But, with that said, I wouldn’t mind seeing her go to either Texas A&M or Stanford.
The Collegiate Women's Record in the 4 x 800 relay is 8:17 ! Stanford SHOULD go under 8:10 next year.
They could probably take that record with four freshman lol!
It’s so weird to hear all the positive opinions on this board when all my friends who ran for him hated him as a coach
+1
His results at the top are excellent but he’s also ruined a lot of great runners with his coaching style. Hopefully these two both succeed under him, because they’re truly incredible talents.
What exactly is his Coaching style?
Her last name is spelled Gorriaran and she only has one year of high school left.
High school girls are very unpredictable. She may break Whittaker's record or she may run slower than she did her junior year. We'll just have to wait and see.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
