Vin was 94 and a legendary broadcaster.
Vin was 94 and a legendary broadcaster.
Very sad news. For my money, there was nothing better than knocking back a few cold ones while listening to Vin call a Dodgers game on the radio. Pure relaxation.
The voice of the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers for 67 years. The legend of all legends. RIP indeed.
Bill Russell and now Vin Scully. Everyone is mortal but those were two giants in the sports world. Vin knew how to spin a tale.
He was the GOAT
A weekend in the summer in SOCAL wasn't legit without Vin Scully calling a Dodger game on the radio with the sound of lawn mowers going in the neighborhood and the smell of burgers on the grill.

Vin Scully was a GREAT sports broadcaster. He obviously was somewhat ignorant about certain things. There are forms of socialism working fine in many governments in this world, and surely you are able to recognize that socialism exists and is implemented selectively in the US.
Vin was a company man who was not about to stir the pot by biting the hand that fed him. He was imperfect like everyone but again a great sportscaster.
I detest the Dodgers, but he is/was the GOAT without question. Smooth as silk and as cool as the other side of the pillow. The man could talk about paint drying ... for hours and we would all still be interested.
Absolutely. A slice of "back in the day."
Vin Scully was the best sportscaster in history. Period. Regardless of what sport. No one else has ever come close.
He made the most epic moments and situations in baseball even more epic and memorable.
But perhaps his real genius was at the opposite end of the scale. Drop him into the most boring and "was over innings ago" game and he could hold fans' attention with a grip like a Marine handshake. Not to mention, one of the easiest people to listen to in the history of all forms of media.
As another poster said, we've lost two absolute giants in the past week. RIP Vin and Bill.
He called "The catch" and helped call the start of the 49ers dynasty.
Suck it Cowboys !!!!!!
Nice handle.
