Pretty sure center grove only have 4 under 16 at twilight, although they had a 16:00 and 16:01 at sectionals. They are a solid team with good depth. If they put it all together on race day, they can crack the top 3. Pretty confident that they should be in the top 5 as long as everyone is upright and healthy.
Brebeuf is vulnerable due to their lack of depth. I see them in the 7-10 range.
Carmel and Zionsville will go 1-2 easy at the state meet. Zionsville's sixth was 16:00 on a fair course. I would say BD was pretty accurate on current fitness.
Zionsville looked super strong at BD regional. Emerson for Avon looked real good and composed he PR'd by like 18 seconds? So I am just not sure how much more in the tank he actually has. Shocker was the Sophomore from Brownsburg getting the Runner-up. Kudos to him,
These teams are very closely matched. I would call it a tossup, but big races add that extra degree of uncertainty. If I were betting money, I would put it on the team with the strongest and most consistent 4-5-6 runners. That's where the real battle is.
I would at the moment give the 1-2 to Noblesville over Zionsville. Noblesville Sophomore Jack Strong that's run 15:34 twice this season and is their number 3 runner, struggled at the regional but if he's on he could be the difference come state as long as Noblesville's 4-5 keep it together because I like Zionsville 4-5 more than Noblesville's 4-5 at the moment. Can't find two teams more even that are hunting for that runner up spot behind Carmel.
Basically, If both teams ran well at the moment
Noblesville 1-3 > Zionsville 1-3
Zionsville 4-6 > Noblesville 4-6
Both teams number 7 runners are even pretty much. Noblesvilles has run 16:24 and Zionsvilles has run 16:29.
The IHSAA tournament continues with the Semi-State round. MileSplit Indiana will preview all four semi-states during the week. Next, Brown County Semi-State.

Zville, Nville and Mason OH all finished very close together at Niketown so all 3 should be on there. There seems to be too much Southwest bias, although it’s a strong region.
P.S. Guess that answers the N-vile vs Z-ville question, unless someone wasn't at full strength.
Wow. Zionsville almost beat Carmel.
center grove came as close to Carmel as people thought they should be.
this region is getting some depth now. 2 at larges might actually happen if Zionsville and center grove do well against Plainfield south. Can these 2 teams beat Plainfield south now?
CG and Z-Ville have made a case that they should be nationally ranked
I told you guys I thought Zionsville was better. They looked so good at the BD regional. I did not expect them to be that close to Carmel though. Such tough pack running from Zionsville!

CG has 6 guys now that have run under 16, and #7 ran 16:01 at sectional. And CG had highest placed 7th runner (by 19 spots). Zville had a super tight spread 15:42-54 for their top 5 (places 10-20). Both of those are great assets for a crowded, fast race like we will see next week.
