Aidan Cox been injured since winter. If healthy he's better than all those guys. If not, then not. Not sure about Kipyego on this list, he doesn't seem to be a super big xc guy. Nathan Lopez is better than Ross and Burgess right now too, he was having injury problems last xc but beat both of them at the MIAA state meet this spring in two different events. Marcus Reilly is not a super big XC guy. Also watch out for Singleton's junior teammate from Butler. A lot of these guys also might do eastbay instead, so look to Mass to fill in the gaps. Whole bunch of junior guys all around 9:20 to 9 flat this outdoor

On the girls side it’s looking to be a crap-shoot since this region isn’t very strong.
on the boys side Union Catholic and CBA will among the top teams
I was surprised that Weymouth girls team is not included on the girls side. They placed 4th at NXR and return 3 scorers, another good incoming junior and another good incoming sophomore. They have some good freshmen coming in too.
This team is looking to be really good in 2024.
A few things:
IMO Weymouth girls will only be ok they return a pretty solid top 3 but it actually falls off quite a bit after that, everyone else on their top 7 last year were seniors. It looks to me like their next fastest girl is 5:40 12:50ish on the track.
Also personally I don't think Acton Boxboro is on the same level as Prep, Newton North, or Brookline, those Mass teams could compete well on the regional level tho.
Watch out for Bishop Hendrickson.
They won NXR last year (over CBA) and return 3 of their top 4 (incoming seniors), a 9:47 2mile incoming soph, and a 9:46 2mile incoming junior.
This is a solid top 5 I would say.
CBA returns 6 of 7 including a freshman and two sophs from last years MOC team.
CBA also brings back 4 sub-9:35 guys and another 4:27 guy for fall 2023. They are putting themselves in the position to maybe win another NXN title, although there are many teams that could win it too that year. But not Newbury Park.
cba ahead of Union Catholic? Surprising
No bishop Hendricken in the top 5?
jokes. Should be #3 at least
Hendricken’s first race. We will see how much their 3 scorers that returned have improved from last year, and how well their 4-7 (all sub-9:12 3k guys) have stepped up and will contribute.
Hendricken’s number 1 guy was missing here.
they were missing a guy who ran a 15:47 in the 5K in track
Aidan Cox is finally racing. Speaking of his team, they need a #5. That’s all that needs to be said.
Aidan cox - has yet to make a season debut? Not facts
Nice race by Aidan Cox and depth by Hendricken.
What’s Cox’s injury deal? Feels like he’s been injured forever—multiple stress fractures or just one really bad injury?
