Tarkenton played half his games outdoors in Bloomington, MN, many of them extremely cold weather. Fran was a great QB. When he retired he had many of the NFL passing records. Dude…
Let's throw that quick slant at the one yard line for the game winner...oh wait.
Ricardo Lockette got totally owned on that play by Butler. That's a pattern that the QB throws the ball in anticipation of the receiver being there, Lockette allowed Butler to play through him to the ball. Not saying a run wouldn't have been a better call, but I put about 85% of the fault on that play on the receiver.
It really is amazing the way people act, Russell Wilson has had the greatest first 10 year career for a QB we have seen and somebody needs to talk that one play which as you pointed out more about the receiver.
Marion Motley, Tank Younger, Deacon Dan Towler, Jim Brown, Bobby Mitchell, Joe "Jet" Perry, J.D.Smith the first 1000 yard rusher out of an HBCU school...NCA&T, John Henry Johnson, Dick Bass, Timmy Brown, Lenny Moore, Abner Haynes, Clem Daneils, Paul Lowe, Larry Garron, Curtis McClinton all black running backs who were there in 1960, match that with white RB;s, can ya do it?
Ollie Matson was a1952 Olympic 400m bronze medalist, Hall of Fame running back
Back in the 40's the roots to the tree tiny Buddy Young an NCAA/AAU 100 champ.
The Rams used two QB's in Norm Van Brocklin and Bob Waterfield, like both in the pro bowl in the same season. Younger and Deacon Dan Towler another big 225 pound black RB were the ball carriers. Tom Fears and "Crazy Legs" Hirsh both in the Hall of Fame were the receivers along with the 1950 NCAA 100 champ out of Loyola Bob Boyd., cat had a 1000 yard season when that was rare.
Just a serious football geek who has seen them all since Jim Brown sharing some knowledge that comes with experience. Don't fight it, don't battle it, soak it all in and embrace it.
