Do we see an American Record from Karissa Schweizer tonight? Huge PB of 30:18 the other night converts to about a 14:33. Cranny did not run the 10K so her legs are fresh so she could have a big run, too. Weather is looking like 79 degrees at race time. If Gidey, Hassan and the other favorites decide to press it, I think Schweizer could be the caboose on that train and get pulled to a record.

I feel like if any of the women in the 4x4 have on off night, we could be in trouble. It seems like there is little margin for error in that group.

The men are so much deeper than any country they can qualify with any group of 10-12 guys. The finals are different. They will have to bring it.

Oh god, that team is bad. Only need top 3 in their heat. Netherlands is running their A team, but Great Britain is not. Need to watch out for France and Germany too. They should still finish 2nd and qualify.

Anyone else feel like this is a slightly underwhelming session for the final weekend of your world championships - especially the Saturday night?

Sure we got the 4x100s which are exciting, but only the mens 8 and womens 5000 in terms of individual medals. I dunno it just seems a little light on action right? (no disrespect to the Decathletes)

It would be a travesty if Wilson and Steiner aren't allowed to run at least one of the rounds (obviously they were not allowed to run the prelim tonght). Those two are much more deserving of a medal than anyone that is running the prelim tonight.

Who do ye have as the favourite in the women's 5k? I feel a case can be made for each one of Gidey, Tsegay and Hassan winning. Although perhaps the fact that Gidey now has a kick changes things?

It's not a 110m/100m race set without drama from someone clipping the hurdles (you can ask Gail Devers). Belgium runner was running by herself in a time trial to try to make the semis and still clipped the last hurdle and missed out.
