I saw this when looking up the 4x100M world record progression. OJ was part of the USC team that set the WR at 38.6 back in 1967. This lasted until the '68 Olympics.
Another NCAA school to hold a 4x1 world record was Oregon.
Leading off Jerry Tarr the top ranked 110h in the world. Also a football player, but....a bust as a Denver Bronco
Mike Gaecther was a 9,4 guy and another pro footballer to be. he'd have a few seaons as a Dallas Cowboy.
Speaking of the Cowboys, Hall of Famer to be and a world ranked hurdler Mel Renfro ran the third leg.
The great Canadian Harry Jerome on anchor, he was a multi time world record holder and won the 64 100m bronze chasing Bob Hayes, who he actually beat once.
O.J. ws a legit 9.4 100 yard cat, he would place 6th in that season's NCAA 60 and also 6th in the 100 yards.
That 4x1 world record team...
Earl McCullouch a 13.2 hurdler, would have a good NFL career as a WR for the Detroit Lions.
Fred Kuller a former 9.3 JC record holder, white guy.
O.J ran the third leg, NFL Hall of Fame
Lennox Miller a Jamaican was an Olympic 100m silver and bronze to be.
Earl Mcullouch competed in California CIF, right? I feel like I remember seeing his name on the results for the 180s at the CIF state meet at some point.

Still co-holder of the 180 lows prep record, as they stopped running it in 1974
