Jakob prolly has long covid or covid vaxx symptoms anyway
I doubt it.
The men's 1500m is just one of those events that's so competitive at the moment, if you make a tactical mistake or burn a few too many matches, you'll cost yourself the race. Doesn't matter if you're the best in the world, if you get it a little wrong on the day, you won't win.
Jakob ran a little too wide at times, went to the front too early, and allowed Wightman to pass him before the final bend; whereas Wightman doled his effort out more efficiently - made one move, and made it count.
Happy that Wightman was the one to win gold over Kerr. Kerr has always come off a little cocky and arrogant, but he really seemed to take things up a notch this World Champs...
Agreed on the classy part, and he didn't run out to lane 4 to hold off Ingeb either. One can just win by running down the track, who would have thought.

Jake had the luxury of:
(a) not “needing” to win
(b) be confident that he could kick with the best as long as he was in a good position.
Jakob did not have that luxury
Given that Jake is in the best shape of his life AND he was able to position himself well, he is now the world champion
