Benjamin might be 24 with a good shot at the WR, but Dos Santos is a 6'7 hurdle warlord who has run 46.7 at 21. He will get the WR soon after.

DOS SANTOS is 22... he could of broken the world record if he hadn't slowed down celebrating... there is still commonwealth and the Diamond League season.. that world record could go before the season ends...

His celebration didn’t cost him .35 he wasn’t breaking the WR that day. You’re right though could in the near future. His performance here, outside last years Olympic final, would look like such an outlier in track history but seems to be getting a hohum reaction. Dos Santos is good enough that even Warhol and Benjamin with a completely healthy build up might not have beaten him. Given their ages I wouldn’t be surprised seeing Dos Santos ruling this disciple for the next 5 years like Warhol did the last 5. Sucks for Benjamin having to compete at the wrong time with both of them. Hope he can get at least 1 gold

I've heard through the grapevine that Rai Benjamin is going to be getting season ending surgery soon to repair an injury that has been hampering him.

He already said he didn't think it was a good idea for him to run in the 4x400. So he might as well get the surgery done ASAP and start getting ready for next year.

Warholm was 25 when he set the 400 h world record.

200 m Bolt age 23

400 m van Niekerk 24

800 Rudisha 23

1500 El Guerrouj 23

So the best age for world records in sprints/middle distances might be 23-25.

It is so sad that people still sleep on Dos Santos even after becoming the WC. Benjamin will be forever #2, he was just unlucky to have Warholm and Dos Santos in his time.
