Reminds me of that idiot security guard at the Masters in 2019 who ran into Tiger Woods and that Chinese cameraman who ran over Usain Bolt at the 2015 Worlds. How these clueless people get jobs is dumbfounding.
From his reaction, he knew the runners were coming. He just turned away from the runners and photographed them after they went by. Amazing.
If he looked back a split second before they got to him standing still was the right move. It's much easier for the pack to go around him, if he darted off to the side he probably hwould have caused a collision.
All and all pretty lucky, it was at the beginning, the field went around him like a school of fish, it was at the beginning of the race before the real running started. No harm no foul
Thanks for the link. Wish I could see the seconds leading up to that. Was it a case where he messed up, not realizing they were already coming, so he quickly decided to hold his ground, like he planned it all along?
