Devon Allen — incredible class

All three of the U.S. hurdlers are first-class human beings. I may not follow every heat or race but I always check out their interviews.

Allen's agent is asking Grant for a race when the 3 medalist was taking questions in the room. That was kinda lame.

I'm really interested in hearing what Devon Allen has to say now that it's been discovered that the reaction timing system was set up incorrectly and it registered everyone's reaction times .02 too fast. Meaning that Devon Allen didn't actually false start, and he was incorrectly DQ'd.

Will he demand for the 110h final to be run again? Has a WC final ever been run twice before?

Ive not seen any interviews as I’m in the UK but my view of Devon Allen is the polar opposite of yours based on what I’ve seen.

He false started. Refused to accept it, argued with officials, refused to leave the track and Tried to invent his own rule (running under protest), continued to refuse to accept his false start and to hold up the start of the final which he was no longer a part of.

a man with pure class would have walked off the track with dignity to allow his competitors to get on with a race that he had been correctly disqualified from.

Him having ‘composure’ in a post race interview is very different from ‘class’ out on the track.

Actually no, he wasn't correctly disqualified.

It turns out that the reaction time system that Eugene put in for the World Championships is not working properly. Devon Allen didn't actually false start.

I hope that he can run some Diamond League meets so that he goes out on a positive note.

It was in the semifinal (less people watching) and it was from an athlete who no one expected to make the final or medal. This is compared to the final of one of the most hyped up races of the meet, with one of the biggest names in the sport currently, who also happens to be a medal favorite. He also happened to be .001 under the magic (arbitrary) 100ms. It's pretty clear why Devon Allen is getting more attention, but they are all BS and my heart goes out to all three of them.

Hopefully he makes the Eagles' roster. They could use a good receiver for a change.

It'd be great for him to make the Eagles and star, but let's remember that he's been out of the sport for many years and had several major injuries when he was in it. As a hurdler, though, he's run #3 all-time.

Moreover, when he did play for Oregon, he was not a huge star. After the first injury, I recall his #'s being limited. I wish him the best, nonetheless. He's good for the sport.

He did not false start. He was incorrectly flagged by a broken false-start system. Read RoJo's article, it explains what occurred.
