Also, is NBC piping in fake fan noise to make the broadcast more interesting? The fan noise was the same at 4 minutes and 24 minutes. The fan noise doesn't match the actual fan clapping.

Nice race by Fisher. Being that close to Cheptegei is something special. If this was a 10,005 meter race, he'd be the Bronze medalist.
Absolute horrible positioning the entire five last laps by Fisher. He didn't lose that race because he wasn't good enough.

He looks great running against the armed-warmered Woody Kinkaids of the world but not so great against the truly elite.
Quoted for truth. In Tokyo, he wasn't quite good enough, so he got left behind at the end. In contrast, today he chose to lose a winnable race.

A) This commentary on GF’s race is truly inane. He ran superbly and was beaten by three others who just nipped him.
B) He will win one of these soon.
He's not going to kick down that crew, he needs to make sure he's in the top 3 when the throw down starts, he does that, he medals.
