Nanyondo Wins Appeal !! - Now She's In The 1500 Final - Fair or Not?

There has to be some rules about who gets in when they trip. What if they are 30 meters back with a lap to go and they trip. Should they get in to?

If that was the case, runners would just start flopping like they do in basketball and soccer.

All the other runners knew she was about to unleash your kick and clearly attacked her and pushed her to the ground!!! She was heroic to get up from that and walk off while whining and complaining!

It's kind of hard to finish the race when 30 people from the stands run on to the track and start attacking you! Obviously she could only get off the track after the police came

Nanyondo should have gotten up right away, finished, and then protested. Because she just didn't get up to finish I would not advance her into the final.

Nanyondo should be drafted into the NBA or Premier League with that performance. She sold that like there was no tomorrow. No way was she going to qualify by time or placing. She did what she had to do knowing she would get into the final.

Sabatini should be DQ’d, Nanyondo should not be in the final.

Tend to agree though I don’t know if your last sentence is too harsh for me. I think she was emotional and upset. She’d had a better season and that was egregious and unexpected from Sabbatini. I would’ve rather she gathered herself and gotten up, but clearly she was taking the non-qualification and fall really hard.

Nanyondo was pushed multiple times and finally to the track. Maybe she shouldn't have fallen all the way, but then Solinsky later admitted he shouldn't have let himself be pushed out by a tiny Ethiopian either. Sabatini's dq was obvious. It's a judgment call on Nanyondo getting into the final this way but if you don't want that to happen, then don't push them down so blatantly.

Both should've been dq'd for embarrassing themselves and their countries.

Nanyondo cut off Sabbatini. Sabbatini should not have been disqualified, she was just holding her ground and not lettign Nanyondo trip her.

It was pretty funny...shove your opponent to the ground and leave them in a heap weeping.

I do not understand what most of you are talking about. It sounds like you all are just parroting what the announcer said. If you actually watched what happened you would have seen that there was never a push or a shove. Sabbatini ran up on the back of Nanyondo and clipped her heels several times. It looks like she clips her heels 4 or 5 times as they come around the end of the curve. Eventually Nanyondo goes down from having her heels clipped again and again. Sabbatini never shoved or pushed her. Not sure what you guys are looking at. Nanyondo should not be advanced to the final however, because she never finished the race. You should have to finish the race to be advanced in my opinion.
