Once she was there with 200 to go I figured it was her.
But I'm even more of a fan now.
She has guts like no one else.

She did well all things considered. Tough to beat the marinara sauce Ethiopians though. Should be an interesting 5000.
It was impressive. She’s not at her peak and still was right there.
She was putting out a phenomenal effort over the last 100meters, judging from her facial expression. Her physical ability right now lags behind her will and determination.
Admit I thought she was going to steal it after all too. But that was maybe the spiciest kick Gidey has yet produced. Excellent race.
It was a great race. With 200 m to go, I would have bet my house that Hassan was going to win (luckily you can’t do such a thing!). Gidey shocked me with he closing speed. She’s a great and worthy champion. I’m hoping Hassan can conjure a heroic effort and they battle it out in the last 50 m of the 5000. Obiri also deserves every accolade. Wow, never thought she’d almost win on the track. She’s a legend too. That 10000 will be one remembered for many years.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
