Great race by Gidey. Love her tenacity and her response to Obiri when Obiri had that little burst. I'm sad that Eilish McColgan faded. Good race overall.
Do we really have to do these threads when the overwhelming favorite wins the race?
I truly didn’t think Gidey would ever beat Hassan in a race. She never demonstrated a strong kick previously, so she’d be forced to provide drafting cover for Hassan only to be out kicked at the end. Not today!
My heart was jumping as they came around that final bend!

Great run by Gidey, but let’s remember that Hassan has literally been lying on the couch for the better part of a year.

Yup, guess Hassan really meant it, but after her fiery trailblazing Tokyo, the burnout chickens perhaps had to come home to roost.

I’m amazed Hassan did was well as she did. With 120 m to go I thought she would win because she’s just too fast. Gidey was impressive and so was Obiri. Just did not think they could hold off Hassan in a sprint even if Hassan was far from peak fitness.
