If Felix was on the relay she should have gone last.
The anchor rigged up so, so bad.

Meh. Felix gave up a pretty substantial lead herself.
Felix gave up a substantial lead that looked like 40+ meters or more, but they had to put her on the team so she could meet sponsor obligations and get that final medal.
But at least Allyson Felix ran for the moms out there.
Felix was garbage. She was just as bad as the anchor.
Bingo, we have a winner!
Quit messing around 'Mercia. Real life is not a Lifetime movie. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. You can't win this event by running your C Team, even if you trying to manufacture a Disney ending. You deserved what you got.
And well played DR and Femke Bol!!
Kennedy “I’m gonna slow down at the finish and let my country down” Simon
The announcer at the start of the anchor leg:
Team USA on it's way to gold and what a triumphant ending for Allyson Felix this will be. But, but, wait, the DR is closing. They're getting closer, closer - could this be an upset here at historic Hayward field. The DR just stepped pass USA and her comes the Netherlands. Triumph no less for Allyson Felix as she pick up another blah, blah medal.
Congrats DR well done. Fvvck the script.
The US, esp. on the women's side, is just not deep at the 400m. Anyone who would be good at it is specializing other events and doesn't want to jeopardize them with an event that isn't high-profile enough for them. Maybe over time the U.S. will take the mixed relay more seriously. And in general, relays have been a sore spot for Americans ...
Felix and Simon finished 5th and 6th at USAs respectively, which at first glance isn't terrible and allows them to be on relays.
Felix just should have retired on top and now goes out with a whimper.
Bol was so impressive!
So many Moms over the last 50 years! Heck, Evelyn Ashford was in the early months of pregnancy when she set a WR in the 100. 100H defending champion Nia Ali is back and running well after having her THIRD child! Haven’t heard a mention
Both girls went too hard and died, and Norwood went too soft and only hard the last 100m. The team left 10-20m out there from mistiming their runs. Strange considering how many 400s they've run in their lives. The girls got over-excited and Norwood complacent.
Vernon Norwood ran a great leg, so kudos to him.
Norwood stayed right on the leader and then passed him. Unfortunately Norwood sometimes fades in races, but he definitely ran with urgency this time.
This post was removed.
Godwin excellent too. The men gave the ladies 2.2 seconds head start, but they needed more evidently. At least mens 400m running domestically is currently excellent.
Felix split 50.1 and Kennedy split 50.9
These aren't terrible times but when the two women on the DR and Netherlands teams are going sub 50 there's not much you can do. Felix got hawked by Paulino because Paulino ran 48.5, so you can't really fault her. I do think we should have put someone capable of sub 50 but like the announcers said most runners care more about their individual events and we don't have the depth
The SEC outdoor 4x400 had 6 women split sub 50, 5 of which are from the usa. And 2 of the 3 sub 49 splits were from the US.
Felix gave up a big lead but that was to the 400m silver medalist. The anchor choked this one away. If the US is going to do this event then put some better people on it. Hell why is t our best 200m runner on it? She’s been running 48 second splits all year in college. So many options.
The men got screwed lol. Feel bad for them
True, both guys did their job well. I think the anchor just lacks experience and ran out of gas. U.S. men's 400m is so strong. We have the vets and some good up-and-comers.
