If you go to Ticketmaster or StubHub it looks like there are lots of empty seats for most World Champ sessions. Last minute purchasers may get some deals.
I posted this on another tread. I bought a ticket yesterday (for some else. I already have tickets.) Didn't buy a resale. Just paid face value from Ticketmaster. I don't see them putting tickets on sale. If they hadn't made buying tickets so hard when they first put them on sale they might have sold more. Plus World Athletics now appear to understand that bad accommodations in Eugene are a real problem for people who have money and want a nice vacation.

I actually heard something interesting that sounds very unlikely but the source was very well connected and part of the WC. Phil Knight is pissed becasue when he built the stadium he didn't realize that the World Championships are an Acsis event. Anyway apparently the budget for a lot of things dried up. The top British official (Chris Cohen) has been in Eugene for the last 7 weeks (i think he's unpaid) sorting things out for the WC.

I just listed my $500 tickets for $550. No takers yet so I may have to go under what I paid. 3 tickets for the last day if anyone is interested.

Why would someone pay more than the value when all days and sessions have lots of tickets left at face value from Ticketmaster?

I agree with the others… why would someone pay an extra $50 a ticket when they can buy direct for $500? If you don’t wanna lose money on your tickets.. try selling tjem for face values

....ummmmm maybe because he or she bought them months ago and they are way closer to the track than the remaining seats still available?
I was able to resell my tix for a little over face value after we decided not to pay $1,000+ to fly from the East Coast to Portland / Eugene.
My seats were for a Sat. night session, which may have been more in demand. But people trying to make a huge profit ... lol have fun not selling your tix.
Nothing more dumb than having an event like Worlds, and having an empty stadium. I said it a the U.S. nationals, Nike can afford to give tickets away to, church groups, middle school students, coaches, first responders. They could have contest to win free tickets. Millions of ways to get rumps in the seats on all days. All of this should have been thought of after the U.S fiasco last month.
But Nike is too avaricious for money to think of this.
Most of the night sessions are close to sold out. The day sessions will have the most empty seats by far. Since Asics is the main sponsor, it's not a Nike issue to give out free seats unless you expect them to buy the unsold tickets and give them away.
According to UK athletics less than 50% of the people who bought tickets for the UK champs attended the event. Not sure what that was about or if that has any bearing on Eugene's struggles.

Makes you wonder how many Chinese had a gun pointed at their heads to fill seats and cheer loudly in 08 at lesser attended events and the most recent winter Olympics to fill seats and not cheer loudly. Go back and look at morning sessions from recent WC meets. I think you'll find a lot of empty seats. Nonetheless, there's a lot of crazy going on in the world right now and maybe a track meet isn't making it to the top of the list of a lot of people that would otherwise be there.

Coerced labor practices of a socialist economy applied to the World Championships?
Military police show up at your apartment residence. They knock loudly and threaten to break the door if you do not answer in thirty seconds. So you open the door, they drag you into the hallway and forcefully push you down the hall. They push you all the way to the games.
"You are going to athletic stadium for sit down work today. We pick out clothes to wear. Here is bag. Put on clothes NOW! Be sure to look like having fun or else we beat crap out of you after event. We watch and take notes. Be ready for discussion.

Thought ASICS and world athletics are the sponsors not Nike.

I was trying to resell them for $550 since Ticketmaster takes a cut of the money. Plus they are at the finishline on the final day so I figured they would be in high demand.
