Last night on Instagram, Josh Kerr said he is doing a race in Seattle tonight. I googled and there is the Bill Roe All-Comers Summer Track Series out there tonight. 1m, 5k, and 10k. Does anyone know anything about this event and if it's the one he is talking about?
Because running at Stumptown Twilight in a real race vs. Sam Tanner on Friday doesn't fit into the plans he races in an all-comers meet. Come on, dude.
Teare/Hocker seem to take the brunt of the criticism on here about not racing anyone, but Kerr easily takes the cake. 3:29 bronze medalist has raced once on the DL since going pro in 2018. Doesn't even race Pre which is right in his backyard, come on man.

I guess the difference is that Kerr has that Olympic medal so can say his approach is working. Hocker and Teare have nothing yet.
Saying that, I'd like to see Kerr race more often. He's run three races of any consequence this year (Millrose, Birmingham, British champs) which is pretty lame. He should be a big star in the UK and he'd draw attention and sponsorship, but his profile is still pretty low for an Olympic medallist in a country which doesn't win many medals on the track.
Plenty of guys with 1:45-46 SBs in Stumptown too...
Glorified workout in Portland vs. glorified workout in Seattle. It's not like he's skipping a championship. As someone mentioned above, his sponsor likely had a say in this.

If he ran the 800, I’m not so sure he’d win against Hunter et al. At Stumptown in the 1500, he'd go against Tanner who beat Gourley at Pre. Gourley of course just cruised by Kerr in the British champs. So to address your point no there is a difference.
The Brooks Beasts running at this meet is buried on the 4th slide of their timeline post today behind updates on athletes’ national championships. Nothing on Brooks Running or on either accounts’ IG Stories. So no, I don’t think Brooks cares that much. Especially since Kerr runs in these sort of events as Stumptown (below DL American pro meets) as much as anyone.
