It's odd that this isn't official yet. Nothing on Puma's social media and nothing on Abby's either. Could this be a case of a rumor just spreading without it being verified?

This is like a bad game of telephone. You got it from Running Magazine, who got it from Kenny at Sac State, who got it from a track & field group on Facebook from a person by the name of Herbie Medina, who got it from a random Jamaican on the same Facebook page by the name of Samantha Nick. None, and I repeat, NONE of this has actually been vetted, it's just people repeating what other people have said.

I thought there was no real money in T&F. 2 mil isn't NFL money but it isn't nothing.

That is exactly what this is. The person that originally posted this on that Facebook page was banned from the page, but not before it racked up hundreds of comments and almost 1000 likes. This is why our country is dogsh!t, because people are too stupid to take 5 seconds to verify things before blindly believing and spreading it. It's 100 times worse that a "magazine" wrote a story on it based on a tweet by someone who has nothing to do with Abby Steiner.

All just speculation until we hear Rae's Take.

If you are a female athlete, it's much better to be a track runner than be a WNBA player. The highest paid WNBA player, only makes about 200k a year.

This has been discussed already in another thread and the entire chain of nonsense was outlined there. Kenny from Sac state, which this article sites, got his information from a Facebook page, from a person that was banned from posting it on that page, and he got it from a random person in Jamaica.

Stop believing everything you read especially from a place called "running Magazine" that no one has ever heard of before.

If you don’t believe the source, then make an educated guess. Sydney signed a 1.5 million deal 2 years ago, that probably 1.5 million is the floor of Abby’s contract. We knew there were multiple shoe companies who were interested in signing her (And there was a bidding war b/n them). But she chose to sign with puma, before the world championship (Why would she do that, if the money wasn’t great)

When you connect the dots 2 million contract from puma, is not a outrageous as you make it sound.

All kinds of videos and reports but nothing from Puma, so nothing but speculation. Something like this would have a tight lid until it was a done deal.

You have no idea how much Sydney signed for, again, you just repeat sh!t that people tell you without any facts to back it up. What Sydney makes has never been revealed and is subject to her NDA.

I know Kenny, the source of that article and the tweet, I know where he got that information from that caused him to tweet and I know that the person that he got the information from doesn't know diddly-squat about whether Abby signed a deal or not much less for how much. Kenny was reckless trying to be first and I don't understand why. He coaches at Sac State, he knows nothing about Abby and has no dog in this race.

She won her first US trial, by beating Shacarri and Gabby Thomas (Shaccari is making more than 1.5 million and Gabby is making more than 1 million). And she is only 22 years old.

So getting a 2 million contract out of college, is not something out of this world.

Most of the WNBA players also play in an overseas league where they make much more than they do in the WNBA.
