Makes since. She’s goes good with Syd
huh? syd is with new balance
its actually adidas
If she doesn't sign with Nike, she's making a huge mistake because they are about to launch an even better sprint spike on par with the Dragonfly in distance that will revolutionize sprinting.
I'm in a facebook group of track and field "fans" some former Olympians are in it as well as regular fans like me.
There was a post this morning that she signed with Puma for 2 million dollars. When I looked at the profile of the poster, it looked like a fake account.
But, the resultant replies all indicated that she did indeed turn down Nike and sign with Puma.
If that's true, it seems odd. Since when is Puma spending large sums of money on runners from United States?
Nike would outbid that in a blink.
FAKE NEWS
What's the point of Puma spending any money on Steiner? Even Usain did absolutely nothing to help their marketshare in the US.
Puma is aggressively courting athletes and attempting to grow their profile in the U.S. market. Yes, Nike could easily outbid them but their treatment of Allyson Felix a few years back still resonates with a lot of elite women. My observation is that younger women are seeking contracts with guaranteed money, no reduction clauses for injuries and pregnancies, and the freedom to seek additional revenue streams. Nike still tends to favor brand exclusive deals plus the "carrot-and-stick" system of reductions/bonuses. You can potentially make more money with The Swoosh but, it is more of a gamble long-term as injuries and life events inevitably happen.

Serenity is great but it sounds like she knows as much as anyone else does. Who even would know this information?
I've heard she's matching Syd with $2m USD/year. Let's see if pans out. Nike is pulling out of sponsorships on a massive scale.
Wow Syd gets 2mil/yr???
I was hoping she would sign with New Balance or adidas. Puma is fine as well. Anyone but Nike.
$2 million seems excessive s I am not sure that I believe. I can see Syd getting that kind of money but not Abby. Maybe some day but not yet. She has the pesonality. the looks, and seems to be a good all around person that is a great ambassador for the sport so if she continues on her current trajectory, the potential is there.
Did Sydney sign with a shoe company? I thought she went with William Morris an agency that reps people in the entertainment and modeling business.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
