Yes, I would love to know how he is doing. Definitely a frustrating part of being a Rupp fan is being in the dark on how he is doing, most of the time.
I agree that a top-10 Olympic performance is quite commendable. However, I think he chokes this time around. I think he's already at the end of the career.
Lucky if Rupp finishes - he is Having injury issues and I’m surprised he has not given up his spot - no racing since his dnf in March ? He is what we called in the 80 s - punch drunk / too focused on marathoning needs to get back to 10k training
1. It's not the Olympics. The competition is a lot weaker.
2. He's LITERALLY been training for this moment for years. Olympics in his home state of Oregon. Everything he has done for the last 5 years has been leading up to THIS race.
Imagine Eliud Kipchoge's drive and mental advantage if the world championships were in Kapsabet. That's Galen Rupp here

It’s crazy to think that from his college days to around the Rio olympics, he was by far the most interviewed, filmed runner we had. Flotrack, Runnerspace, Runningtimes/runnersworld, youtube, dyestat, Register Guard, you name it, he was everywhere. Even with social media today(which he obviously doesn’t use), I bet there’s still more Rupp content floating around than any current pro right now.
