In preparation for the World Championships, Australian phenom and Union Athletics Club star Jess Hull is going for the Aussie mile record of 4:21.38 this Sat...
She is a strong runner but not the closing speed that may be required to get the job done in an international championship. I wish her well and hope she proves me wrong, as she is a joy to watch compete.
Hmm that looks like an exclusive time trial. BTC would be getting raked over the coals for this.
They sent out a public invite and asked all the teams and agents to come and race. I know because I was invited. Looks like a few local elites showed up.

Just like every single BTC "time trial" after covid, doesn't matter to the hypocrites on this board. At least people actually showed up to the BTC "time trials"
Good mark, but slightly inferior to her 1500 PR. It would be surprising if she medalled as she doesn't have the finish that a medal contender needs. If she got stuck in a slow heat or semi I can see her not making the final because of that.
Last lap was 66. It was slower than her average lap. Looked gassed down the stretch, with no room for a kick. Agree with everyone here, it was a good run, but her chance of a medal is close to zero. She won't be able to hang with 3:50-53 pace and doesn't have a strong enough kick for a slow pace.

No hell is she getting a medal. The top women can close in 60s.
